Rusalka by Antonin Dvorak

On Sunday April 20, 2025 we will be showing the opera, Rusalka, by Dvorak at the Shoebox Theatre.
This opera, first presented in the national theatre of Prague in 1901, is based upon the French Mesuline, Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid, Foque’s Undine, and Hauptmann’s The Sunken Bell.
This opera is a triumph of lyricism in the hands of a major symphonist.
Renee Fleming is Rusalka, the water Nymph
Pioter Beczala is the Prince
Dolora Zajick is Vodnik, The Spirit of the Lake, Rusalka’s father
This production is from the Met, first presented in 2014.
Running time is 2 hrs 26 minutes.
