Canada’s inflation rate jumps to 2.6 per cent in February

Canada’s annual inflation rate jumped to an 8-month high.

According to data today (Tuesday) from Stats Canada, It was 2.6 per cent in February, an increase from 1.9 per cent in January.

Although many analysts had expected a rise in the February inflation figures because of the end of a temporary tax break on GST and HST on some goods, the rise in prices was steeper than projections.
