BC water bombing aircraft Los Angeles bound to battle raging wildfires

Emergency officials fear the worst is yet to come, as five wildfires continue to rage in the Los Angeles area.

More than 100-thousand people in and around the California city have been evacuated, and more than 15-hundred homes and businesses have been destroyed.

At least five people are confirmed dead.

Officials say fire crews are overwhelmed – in some areas, so many trucks were trying to operate that water pressure dropped to zero.
Low humidity and dry brush are contributing to the outbreak.

But the biggest threat is the strongest Santa Ana wind in more than a decade, with some gusts hitting 160-kilometres an hour.

Water-bombing aircraft from Quebec and B-C are helping fight the fires, but the high winds are making it difficult for them to hit their targets.
