Tire Collection Event in Nelson

Tire Stewardship BC is hosting a tire collection event in Nelson on Saturday, August 17 and a another in Invermere on Saturday, August 24. Old or unused tires, on or off rim, are accepted.

Nelson residents: Saturday, August 17 9 am – 1 pm at OK Tire, 801A Front St.
Invermere residents: Saturday, August 24 9 am and 1 pm at Mister Tire, 120 Industrial 2 Rd.

Every tire collected will be transported to the processing plant in Delta, BC where they will be broken down, and every component – rubber, fbre and steel – will be utilized and circle back into the B.C. economy. Metals are melted into construction materials, and fibres are used as fuel. Some of the recycled rubber finds a new life as running tracks, arena flooring, or playground surfacing as a part of TSBC’s annual Community Grant Program. 

 Last year, TSBC collected nearly 6,000 old and unused tires from tire collection events.
