Nelson’s Lions Club wants to help make residents’ post-holiday clean-up a breeze with their annual Christmas tree pickup fundraiser this Saturday.
According to their website, volunteers will be roaming through Nelson’s Rosemont, Fairview, Gyro, and Uphill neighbourhoods this Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon, collecting old Christmas trees for a $10 donation.
Trees must be set outside before 9 a.m. and should be visible near the street or front curb to ensure they’re not missed by scouting crews. The $10 cash or cheque donation should be attached in a Ziplock bag to the tree, in a mailbox, or front door.
The Lions Club’s website states that E-transfer is also accepted before Saturday for residents who contact the Lions Club beforehand. All donations stay in the community.
