A new location for the community mailboxes in Ainsworth should be announced soon. Canada Post came out to look at several locations with Regional District of Central Kootenay Director Aimee Watson and a community member.
Watson was happy Canada Post came out to look at new sites, but says it still wasn’t an ideal situation.
Canada Post will be announcing their decision based on approval from the Ministry of Transportation.
The community mailboxes are currently located at Jones Boys Boats after being moved from Ainsworth Hot Springs without providing notice or consulting the community.
