A pre-employment program for men starts in Nelson next month. It’s offered through Nelson Community Services and is open to residents in the Slocan Valley and surrounding areas as well. Facilitator Roger Luscombe says it deals with a number of issues besides career development.
There’s 10 spots available for men 19 and over who can legally work in Canada and are currently working 20 hours a week or less.
The program is called Doorways: Trauma Informed Pre-Employment Program for Men.
