Second Human Library event hosted in Nelson

Nelson’s second Human Library event was a success.  It was hosted at the Nelson Public Library last Thursday. Adult Services Coodinator Anne DeGrace says she heard some great feedback from those who attended.

She says there was also good feedback from the human books.

Some of this year’s book titles were Disabled Rights Advocate, Dislexia in the Real World, Homeless to Home Owner, and How Death has Changed my Life.

The Human Library was initially started in Denmark where people sign up to have conversations with human books. The goal is to reduce stereotypes and barriers in the community.
