This Sunday is Earth Day and a parade is happening in Nelson to mark the occasion for the very first time. It’s organized by the West Kootenay Eco Society. Erin Thompson is their Community Engagement Coordinator and says it will be a bit different from your usual parade.
The parade is open to anyone interested in being involved. You can meet at the Railtown Visitor Center at 2:30pm.
The parade gets started at 3:00 o’clock and will head down Baker Street to the Hall Street Plaza where the fun continues.
You can bring your empty bottles down as well as a donation to The West Kootenay Eco Society’s bottle drive fundraiser.
