The City of Nelson has completed its new Sports Field User Policy.
It was passed by City Council last week.
City Manager Kevin Cormack says although there’s limited space, he feels all users will be accommodated, however youth sports will be given priority.
Cormack says neighbourhood parks with a sports field have been incorporated, including Lion’s Park which wasn’t in the City’s old policy.
He says neighbours were consulted on the plans with a positive response in general, given that the restricted hours of use is enforced.
