The chair of the West Kootenay-Boundary Regional Hospital District says the board is ecstatic that a redevelopment of the emergency ward at Arrow Lakes Hospital in Nakusp will go ahead.
Aimee Watson says the project has been a goal for the hospital district for quite some time.
The project comes with a $2.1 million price tag.
Watson says the hospital district will cover 40 per cent of the cost and the rest will be handled by the BC Government.

Designs of the three-phase project begin in April.
It’s scheduled to finish by the end of 2019.
