Evacuation alert issued for Crescent Bay

The Regional District of Central Kootenay has placed 135 properties between Sitkum Creek and Crescent Bay on the North Shore under evacuation alert due to two new wildfires near Kokanee Creek.

The RDCK said the notice is “due to weather conditions and the fire’s close proximity to some homes.”
