The Ministry of Environment has reissued a smokey skies bulletin for our area.
It now covers all of the West Kootenay/Boundary, although the ministry says smoke concentrations will vary widely as winds, fire behaviour and temperatures change.
They’re urging you to avoid strenuous outdoor activities and if you have chest pains or trouble breathing, to seek medical attention.
Smoke exposure is particularly a concern for infants, the elderly and those who have underlying medical conditions such as diabetes, and lung or heart disease.
