The Regional District of Central Kootenay has activated its emergency operations centre in response to a 20-hectare wildfire burning in the mountains about Harrop.
However, the RDCK says although the blaze is throwing off a “considerable amount” of smoke, it’s not threatening any homes.
BC Wildfire crews are tackling it.
An update is expected at 10 a.m. Friday.
