Blaylock Mansion highest valued property in West Kootenay

Blaylock Mansion is the West Kootenay’s highest valued residential property.

That’s according to BC Assessment’s annual list of the top 100 properties in the Kootenays.

The home at Four Mile, built for Selwyn Blaylock in 1935 and now a bed and breakfast, was 19th with a value of $2.6 million.

It’s one of only five local properties on the list.

Others include waterfront acreage at Christina Lake and Kuskonook.

They were 37th and 38th respectively and both valued at about $2.3 million.

A couple of acreages at Twin Bays on Kootenay Lake were 65th and 90th.

They were valued at $2.1 million and $1.8 million.

The remaining properties are all in East Kootenay, most in Invermere and Fernie.
