There are no flooding concerns but the Grand Forks Fire Dept is keeping a close eye on the Kettle River which is under a high streamflow advisory.
That means levels can rise …sometimes very quickly.
Assistant Fire Chief Kevin Mckinnon says high temperatures or heavy rain can see things change rapidly … which was the case last week when he checked out city park.
But he says levels calmed down again and this early Spring freshet is right where they want it to be.
While there’s a lot of snowpack still to come down there are no particularly hot or heavy rain days in the short term forecast.
