Two people suffered non-life-threatening injuries when their car rolled down a steep bank on Giveout Creek Road on Saturday afternoon.
Nelson Fire Rescue says it happened near the one kilometer marker. When emergency responders arrived, both occupants had already made their way up the bank.
The BC Ambulance Service was on scene as well as RCMP and the Nelson Police Department. Fire department members assessed the scene for hazards and assisted with patient care.
Once patients were en route to Kootenay Lake Hospital, Western Auto Wreckers removed the vehicle. Nelson Fire Rescue stood by with a fire engine to ensure they would be ready to extinguish any fire in the unlikely event something started while pulling the vehicle over the rocks, Assistant Chief Mike Daloise said in a news release.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
