Some upcoming changes to curbside pickup with the new MMBC Recycling Program could be short lived in Castlegar.
Starting next Monday the new province-wide recycling initiative goes into effect, but it doesn’t involve the collection of glass.
Castlegar’s Director of Public Works Chris Barlow says they currently have a one year agreement that will see a contractor pick up the material once a month.
Residents could suggest having glass picked up once every two weeks just like other recyclables.
The City will be sending out information about the MMBC changes with tax notices.
