Public works crews in Creston have been busy with a couple of water main breaks and a collapsed storm sewer line.
The initial water main break – on 16th Ave North at Canyon Street early last week – was triggered by contractor working on adjacent natural gas lines.
The second break was Friday – in the same spot – but more severe and interrupted water service to 28 homes and a business until late at night.
Crews also had to contend with a collapsed storm sewer line on 16th Ave South near Dogwood which was completely repaired Sunday.
The city blames aging infrastructure which they are trying to stay ahead of with replacement projects.
