Grand Forks will launch a webpage on their website this week offering education and conservation tips regarding water.
It’s part of the city’s strategy to cut down on their record of very high use – 720 litres per resident per day! That’s a third more than the average British Columbian.
Mayor Brian Taylor says water meters will be installed this year but that’s only part of the solution.
Taylor says a small group in the community is accusing the city of selling water as a commodity but the city is trying to show that meters are part of a water delivery system that needs to be paid for.
