Kalmikoff sentence hearing underway

The two-day sentencing hearing is underway in Nelson Supreme Court for convicted robber Krista Kalmikoff.

In December a jury found her guilty on multiple counts. These related to two armed robberies in the Queen City in 2014 by her then partner Andrew Stevenson. He used a shot gun and she was found to be an accomplice.

There is a technical argument which may effect the length of sentence she receives. It focuses on whether the jury believed Kalmikoff had knowledge of the shot gun.

Stevenson is serving a ten year sentence after being convicted of the Nelson robberies as well as others in and round Castlegar.
