Efforts are underway to try to find a large animal vet for Grand Forks and area.
Ranchers, horse stables and farmers with other larger animals have been in desperate need of a service since the local vet moved away last summer.
Councillor Chris Hammett says they’re getting the word out across the profession.
Without a local vet for big animals farmers and horse owners are having to seek help from the Okanagan or south of the border into the US.
That’s not ideal and Hammett says it means money is leaving the community.
