Removing the cap from the hospital district’s reserve fund will help address some of the big future costs facing local taxpayers.
That’s a message from Karen Hamling, the Mayor of Nakusp and Chair of the RDCK.
Last week the hospital board decided to end the $10 million limit on the reserve fund and put another $1.7 million into it this year.
Hamling says it’s important hospital board members think regionally.
