Burn period for Nelson

Nelson Fire And Rescue Services are encouraging residents to get rid of woody debris and potential fire fuel around their properties.

A burn period has been approved for the area starting Saturday until April 17.

Any fires must be conducted between 6am and 8pm and a permit is required.

Residents can also take these fuels to the Grohman Narrows Transfer Station for a fee.
