Nakusp company to build, design new cable ferries

Employees of Waterbridge Steel in Nakusp have work to take them to the end of this decade.

This now that the company has been awarded a contract to design and build four new cable ferries for the province’s inland fleet.

Here’s Waterbridge President and CEO John Harding.

The contract is worth $28 million.

The new vessels will serve Glade, Harrop and Arrow Park as well as Adams Lake.

They will be larger than their predecessors for the most part and will be equipped with modern green technology.

The project will generate employment for thirty people over the next four years.
