Trail City Council has rejected an offer from the Village of Warfield to provide funding only towards Library services, despite the Library Board saying they need that money.
The move comes as the Silver City has learned Warfield is now open to renegotiating an agreement for both Library and recreation services – as Trail had originally intended.
CAO David Perehudoff says if they don’t reach an agreement the City will reimburse the Library Board the plus $32,000 that could have came from Warfield.
The City of Trail will also be talking to the province about resident reimbursement programs being set up by surrounding municipalities who opt out of shared services agreements.
