The City Of Rossland aims to slash $250,000 from its budget next year.
Mayor Kathy Moore says it’s too late for this year but they will engage with the community on what needs to be done for 2017 as they try to get on top of their costly ageing infrastructure.
One area for review is recreation.
Moore says they spend 20% of their budget on that alone.
Moore says no job cuts are planned.
The city looks set for a 3.9% tax increase this year which Moore concedes is high compared to the rest of the area.
