New forest society could benefit Boundary, MLA says

The MLA for Boundary-Similkameen says local communities could benefit from a new government organization.

The establishment of the Forest Enhancement Society of BC was announced in this week’s provincial budget.

Linda Larson says it’s particularly relevant given the fires at Rock Creek and Westbridge last year.

The government has set aside $85 million for the organization.

Another $10 million will go toward wildfire prevention initiatives.
