Morning Mountain to join RD parks network

The Morning Mountain Recreational Area near Blewett is set to become a part of the RDKB’s network of parks.

After the ski-lodge on the mountain burned down in 1999, funding was made available to help with area maintenance.

But local Regional Director Ramona Faust says that money has been exhausted.

Faust says plans call for a possible ice rink as well as changes to make it better for tobogganing.

She says the move of Morning Mountain to the Regional District’s park system will not be a huge expense to tax-payers.
