Last year was the warmest on average since records began in our area fifty years ago.
The South East Fire Centre weather office at Castlegar says 2015 saw a mean temperature of 10.2 C.
That’s slightly warmer than the previous record year in 1998. Records have been kept since 1966.
Mean temperature is the average between the maximum and minimums.

The unusually warm and wet December played a part on the new record.
It reached 10.5 C on December 9th and we had over 112 mm of rain and wet snow in the first twelve days of the month.
