Sometimes mother nature can be cruel. Montrose resident Eric Volpatti discovered this to be true, first hand.
It started with a call for help from his neighbor.
Eric and his neighbors attempted to aid the troubled cub and it became obvious that steps had to be taken to protect it.
Volpatti proceeded to walk the bear on the leash and fed it apples until RCMP arrived.
Unfortunately the bear had to be put down by conservation officers as it likely would not have survived the winter.
