Nelson city council has approved a Heritage Award to be handed out this year.
It will go to somebody who diligently promotes and sustains heritage and heritage initiatives in the Queen City.
Councilor Val Warmington says it won’t necessarily be dealt out to the “usual suspects”.
This will go along with three sustainability awards which are being handed out for a second year in a row.
