Principal defends low Fraser Institiute ranking

The very low score of Kaslo’s JV Humphries in the latest Fraser Institute School Rankings is a reflection of the highly politicized attitude to the controversial FSA test.

This from Principal Dan Miles who says their ranking of 279th out of 293 schools in BC is because many parents and the teachers are highly opposed to the Grade 7 test.

That is then reflected in poor attendance or lack of effort or preperation and it shows in the results.

Miles says the school still achieves in many facets.

He says if he had 300 students in Grade 7 the test scores would even out but they have just one class.
