The Nelson Leafs host the champions of B.C’s three Junior B leagues as the Cyclone Taylor Cup kicks off on Thursday night.
The Leafs were eliminated in the second round of the playoffs by the Beaver Valley Nitehawks who went on the win the KIJHL.
Forward Travis Wellman says they have something to prove.
The Leafs will face the VIJHL champion Victoria Cougars at 7:30 Thursday night.
B.V takes the ice earlier at 3:30 against the Aldergrove Kodiaks, who represent the PJHL.
