Is the decision by former NDP Premier Mike Harcourt to quit the party a big wake-up call for the official opposition?
It’s a question we put to Kootenay West MLA Katrine Conroy who regards harcourt as a friend.
Harcourt’s disenchentment partly centres on Adrian Dix’s flip-flop on the Kinder Morgan Pipeline and inconsisent messages on resource development.
Conroy says she’s sad to hear the news and hopes harcourt will change his mind once a new leader is in place and acknowledges NPD policies need to be clear.

Conroy’s husband Ed served under harcourt’s premiership in the 90’s.
She will announce next week whether’s she’s supporting Mike Farnworth or John Horgan in the leadership race…she backed Farnworth last time.
