Free seasonal yard and garden waste disposal

The RDCK’s Seasonal Free Yard and Garden Waste Program is now permanent for some areas in the Creston Valley.

Every October and April, tipping fees for yard and garden waste will be waived for residents in the East Sub-Region.

This includes the Creston Landfill as well as the Crawford Bay and Boswell Transfer Stations.

Environmental Services Coordinator, Megan Deas.


Deas says the program is aimed at reducing yard waste burning, which in turn helps improve air quality.

It was launched in 2014 as a pilot.
