A local food security advocate has entered the federal election race and will run for one of the nation’s fringe parties.
Christina Yahn will represent the Libertarian Party in the Kootenay Columbia riding.
The beekeeper says the party’s platform of getting government out of people’s lives and small business is appealing.
Some of the ideas of the Libertarian Party include decriminalization of illicit drugs, legalization of sex work and allowing private alternatives to health care and insurance.
Yahn admits she’s a political under-dog.
