Nelson Leafs pay tribute to fallen minor hockey league player

Nelson Leafs suffered back-to-back losses to Grand Forks Border Bruins over the weekend.

On Friday night, the Leafs took to the ice with a heartfelt tribute to Nelson Minor Hockey player, Evert Conboy, who died in a car collision on December 7.

Everest’s teammates from the Nelson Ice Warriors joined the Leafs on the ice for a pre-game ceremony.

During the game, Nelson fell short to the visitors, letting them in 4-1.

On Saturday, the Leafs hit to the road to Grand Forks for round two, where they’re fight ended in a 2-1 shootout.

Dylan Spackman made 43 saves in the loss.
