Nelson Public Library reaches northshore

Attention book lovers, with community grant funding, and great new partners at Kokanee Park Marina, the Nelson Library’s delivery services have expanded to the north shore.

Starting October, library users can place requests for materials by emailing or phoning the library and the library will send your books to the Kokanee Park Marina store to be picked up. Library items you’re done using can be returned at the marina during their business hours too.

Enthusiastic north shore resident Lisa Tremblay says “having a pickup/drop off service at the Kokanee Store will be great for this part of Area E, as it increases our access to the exciting materials the library provides!”

For years, the Nelson Library has facilitated a weekly pick up and drop off service at the StellerVista Credit Union in Slocan Park.

This popular service makes borrowing materials easier for folks in the Valley. Valley readers looking for recommendations or support services from a trusty librarian are also welcome to visit the Slocan Community Park Hall one Tuesday of every month, when the library sets up a “mobile library” with lots of good reads to select from.

The Nelson Library is committed to making access to its services easier for its rural users. It isn’t always easy to make a trip in town, or to add visiting the library to your long list of things to do on town days. We get it. But the Nelson Library is for everyone, so we hope these services make squeezing in time to read a bit easier.
