The 15U A Kootenay Kestrels, based in Nelson, have come out on top with a 4-0 record, after defeating the Penticton Tigers 12 to 7 in the Nelson Mid-Summer Showdown tournament final over the weekend.

The tournament was the first Invitational to be held at the newly re-designed Queen Elizabeth Park in Nelson, which welcomed teams from Cranbrook, Penticton, and Vernon.

The teams competed in a 4 team round robin in preparation to the zones finals and Provincials.

Attendance was high with lots of baseball fans cheering on.
