Theft from Nelson Airport under investigation

The Nelson Police Department is actively investigating a Break and Enter at a storage facility at the Nelson City Airport earlier this week.

Between 7:30pm June 24 and 9am June 25th at the 91 Lakeside Drive property, the suspect(s) appeared to have removed the door leading to a storage area where a significant amount of airport and Search and Rescue equipment was held.

The stolen items are not only expensive, but are integral for the regional emergency services to continue their operations effectively.

The complete list of stolen items is extensive, but is predominately related to Search and Rescue and communication equipment.  An example of some of the items have been posted below.
