The City of Grand Forks is the latest local community to switch to electronic voting for local elections.
Tomorrow – and for Advance Voting that has already taken place – residents will mark the ballot similarly to how they have in past elections but it will then be run through an automated system that counts the votes.
Chief Elections Officer Diane Heinrich is confident it will be a smooth process and they won’t be counting votes til midnight like they have in past years.
Grand Forks joins Trail, Castlegar and Nelson who have already used the automated voting system.
Rossland still counts manually .
