A water main break outside the Nelson and District Youth Centre has forced the cancellation of Friday’s afterschool and drop-in programs.
The City of Nelson said in a Facebook post that the break happened around noon and spanned from the 600th block of Lake Street and the Front Street Plaza.
Crews are on-site, and local businesses and residents in the area have been contacted, however, due to winter conditions, the city warns repairs may take up to 10 hours.
The afterschool program today (Weekday Warriors) will be held at the Nelson Curling Club tonight, pickup for the program will also be at the curling club.
Tonight’s drop-in hours (6-9p.m.) are also cancelled.
