Whitewater Ski Resort has been forced to temporarily close on Friday due to an arctic vortex arriving in the region tonight.
The ski resort stated in a social media post that it is experiencing significantly colder than typical temperatures at the resort. With tomorrow’s forecast of -27°C and strong easterly winds, the resort says it created an unsafe environment for guests and staff, prompting the closure.
Although it plans to reopen on Saturday, potential chairlift delays are anticipated.
Further updates on Saturday’s operations will be available that morning on Whitewater’s website.
