Construction on Nelson’s Highway 3A and Baker Street four-way intersection won’t be completed for another two weeks.
The Ministry of Transportation announced the $1.3 million plan to install traffic signals at the intersection in June and broke ground in July.
Originally, the project was scheduled to be finished by Halloween. However, the Ministry informed Vista Radio in October that it had been delayed to Nov. 30.
Last week, the Ministry announced an extension to Dec. 15.
The Ministry did not provide additional information on the cause of the delays but mentioned that the project is in its final stages, with only grading, ramp paving, and the completion of curbs and sidewalks remaining.
Drivers are reminded to obey all signage and to watch out for crews and equipment for a few more weeks until the project is wrapped up.
