Kaslo’s Victorian Community Health Centre is no longer able to provide Saturday doctor’s appointments.
A media release from Interior Health said the changes will not impact weekday emergency department coverage or weekday primary care appointments.
The facility’s long-term care wing will see no impact in physician support.
Patients requiring emergency care after hours are directed to the Kootenay Lake Hospital emergency department in Nelson or to call 9-1-1.
“We recognize this change will inconvenience some residents in Kaslo and area,” the health authority said.
“Interior Health remains committed to addressing current challenges and working with the Kootenay Boundary Division of Family Practice to bring additional physicians to support services in Kaslo. We appreciate your understanding and patience.”
