Castlegar mayor responds to criticism

The mayor of Castlegar says his leadership and that of council has been “outstanding” as he puts it.

Lawrence Chernoff is responding to criticism from mayoral challenger and Area J Director Gord Zaitsoff who suggests the city is being driven by the administration … not council.


Chernoff also answered Zaitsoff’s criticism about what he sees as the city’s silence at the regional hospital board table.

He disagrees saying it was Castlegar who came up with the collaborative move to get all 30 communities to give feedback on their future acute care needs.
