Military exercise wraps up

Exercise “Kootenay Cougar” in Trail exceeded the wildest expectations of the 39 Canadian Brigade Group.

This from Colonel Matthew Haussmann who is the Commander of the army formation which just wrapped up their largest exercise of the year Tuesday.

Haussman says they chose to do the exercise in the Trail area because the region offers challenging and unique terrain.

Nearly 430 soldiers and 80 military vehicles took part in eight demanding training tasks.

The 39 Canadian Brigade Group is the only army formation in British Columbia with 1600 serving members.
