B.C. – It is hard to snap a bad picture in the Kootenays. Now, your pics could win you a prize.
B.C SPCA wants to find the best nature photos of the year and are inviting photographers to go out into the nature and try to document everyday life in the animal kingdom.
Prizes will be awarded for the top three photos, as determined by the judges in each of two categories: Wild Settings and Backyard Habitats. The donate-to-vote People’s Choice Award will also be awarded a prize.
The top 52 photos will be featured on a deck of playing cards that will be made available for sale, with the proceeds going to the BC SPCA Wild Animal Rehabilitation centre.
If you are a shutterbug but not much of a hiker, you still have a good chance of combing in one of the prizes.
“We love seeing wildlife in the forests, mountain and in the oceans, but we love to see backyard photos too”, BC SPCA specialist, research communications Erin Ryan told My Nelson Now.
