NELSON, B.C. – Nelson Police say officers found needles and what is suspected to be Fentanyl during a encounter with a group of people in Lakeside Park this weekend.
“They were familiar to us”, says Sgt. Brian Weber.
He says the group had been using near the football field.
There are normally sharps containers available in certain areas and police say those using intravenous drugs should be considerate and dispose of needles properly.
“It is a playground, and we don’t want anyone to be stuck by a needle”, Weber says.
